How do you find reliable suppliers in Africa?+
We define the required product, capacity, location and commercial criteria, search through local and sector networks, verify candidate companies and confirm initial interest before presenting a shortlist.
How do you verify an African supplier or business partner?+
We first confirm the registered entity, beneficial ownership, tax and operating status, physical presence, decision-makers, relevant activity, references and actual capacity. We compare names, addresses, registration numbers and bank details across the offer, pro-forma or commercial invoice, contract and payment instructions. For mining and regulated commodities, the scope can also include the validity and holder of the mining title or operating licence, the seller’s authority and right to export, legal origin and traceability, sanctions and AML/KYC screening, production or allocation evidence, transport and customs documents, and independent inspection and assay for the specific lot. A document alone is not proof: material points are corroborated with the issuer, registry, site, independent inspector or qualified adviser where possible.
How can I reduce the risk of supplier fraud?+
Start with a verified legal counterparty and require the bank account to match the contracting entity or be formally explained and checked. Use precise specifications, Incoterms, quantity and quality tolerances, inspection rights, document conditions and remedies in the contract. For commodities, link payment milestones to independent weight, assay and inspection certificates for the actual lot—not a sample certificate—and verify export, customs and transport documents before release. Avoid large advance payments based only on scans, email assurances or an unverified invoice. Site inspection, escrow, documentary credit or another controlled payment method may be appropriate depending on the transaction.
Can you find buyers for our products in Africa?+
Yes. We define the target buyer profile, identify importers, distributors, wholesalers, industrial users or institutions, verify relevance and test initial commercial interest.
Can you identify distributors or commercial agents?+
Yes. The search can assess geographic coverage, sector experience, customer base, facilities, sales capability and willingness to represent the offer.
How do I choose a trusted local partner?+
The partner should match the required role, demonstrate relevant capacity and references, have transparent ownership and incentives, and pass commercial and compliance checks before exclusivity is discussed.
How do I know whether an African company is legitimate?+
Registration is only the first check. Legitimacy should also be assessed through operating evidence, sector activity, references, physical presence, decision-maker contact and consistency across company documents.
Can you arrange factory visits or facility inspections?+
Yes. Once suitable candidates have been identified, ASI can coordinate a site visit, factory inspection or independent specialist review as a separately scoped service.
Can you arrange government or institutional introductions?+
Where relevant and lawful, we can coordinate meetings with competent public institutions, chambers or agencies. We do not sell access or guarantee government decisions.
How long does partner, buyer or supplier scouting take?+
A typical assignment takes 2–4 weeks after the criteria are agreed. Highly regulated sectors, multiple countries or site verification can require longer.
Do you work in every African country?+
No firm has equal operational depth everywhere. We confirm our current coverage, local verification capacity and evidence sources before accepting an assignment.
Which industries do you support?+
Priority sectors include mining, agriculture, energy, manufacturing, construction, telecommunications, FMCG, healthcare, education and government procurement.
Can you help negotiate contracts?+
We can coordinate commercial discussions and local context, while legal terms should be reviewed by qualified counsel for the relevant jurisdictions.
Can you work in French?+
Yes. ASI can support English, Polish and French communication and coordinate local interpretation when another language is required.
Can you work under an NDA?+
Yes. Confidentiality terms can be agreed before sensitive specifications, target lists or commercial documents are shared.
